At Mac-Legal, our personal injury practice focuses on cases involving serious or catastrophic injury or death, including injuries from burns, electric shock, head trauma, amputations, and exposure to toxic substances. As we enter the summer’s hottest month, full of endless but dangerous activities, here are some popular summer activities where you can protect yourself and your loved ones from accidents.

Boating accidents

Boating season only occurs in most places once a year, but that doesn’t mean accidents are few. To keep those safe on board, all must be wearing a life jacket. Especially for those who have trouble swimming, fitted life jackets are essential. Only an experienced driver should be driving the boat, without distractions and alcohol-free.

Car accidents

Summer is road trip season, leaving July and August to be the deadliest months of the year in terms of car accidents. Make appointments for regular car checkups and remind passengers to keep distractions away from the driver. Never drink and drive.

Swimming pool accidents

Head injuries, drowning, nonfatal drowning injuries and other injuries are all too common at the swimming pool, especially for children. Whenever children are at a pool, they must be under adult supervision. In addition to constant supervision, children who cannot swim should be wearing life jackets. Never rely only on a lifeguard.

Understanding the proper precautions with summer activities, unfortunately does not prevent all accidents. If you or a loved one has been injured in an accident that is someone else’s fault, you may be eligible for compensation.

MAC-Legal is prepared to help you and your loved ones in evaluating your situation. Schedule your free consultation now and let’s get to work.
